About Mama Do Birth & Beyond
Hi, I’m Harriet, the founder of Mama Do Birth & Beyond, mum of two, and a passionate believer that expectant parents deserve support that is honest, calm, and genuinely helpful.
My journey into antenatal education began, like many things in life, through personal experience.
After graduating from the University of Warwick with a degree in Biomedical Science, I spent nine years working within the NHS. During that time, I supported people through many different stages of health and wellbeing, which gave me a deep appreciation for how powerful good guidance and reassurance can be.
When I had my first baby in 2021, I experienced first-hand just how overwhelming pregnancy and early parenthood can feel. Alongside the excitement, there were questions, uncertainties, and moments of “Why does nobody tell you this beforehand?”
What I noticed most was the gap in accessible, supportive antenatal education locally, a space where parents could ask questions freely, feel reassured rather than frightened, and prepare in a way that felt realistic rather than clinical.
That experience inspired me to retrain as an antenatal educator.
I trained with Blossom Antenatal and became a FEDANT-accredited practitioner, combining evidence-based knowledge with the empathy that comes from being a parent myself.

My Approach
Antenatal education should never feel intimidating, overwhelming, or judgemental.
My goal is to create a space where parents feel:
-
Informed, not overloaded
-
Supported, not pressured
-
Reassured, not alarmed
-
Confident in their own choices
Every pregnancy, birth, and family is different. There is no single “right” way to do things — only what feels right for you.
Classes are relaxed, friendly, and honest. We cover the important information, but we also talk about the realities, the emotions, and the things people often worry about but hesitate to ask.
Because preparing for birth isn’t just about labour, it’s about stepping into a completely new chapter of life.
Life Beyond Mama Do Birth & Beyond
Outside of my antenatal work, I’m a proud mum to Bobby and Sebastian, partner to Ryan, and someone who thrives on family life and community.
I love spending time with my extended family, going on day trips with my children, and staying active through dance, something that has been part of my life for over 25 years.
These experiences continue to shape how I support parents: with warmth, realism, humour, and understanding.
Because behind every class, every session, and every conversation is a simple belief:
No parent should feel like they’re navigating this journey alone.
